Weather
California is occasionally known to have hurricanes from time to time. The National Weather Service issues two types of alerts during periods of severe storms. The first alert is a Hurricane Watch. A Hurricane Watch means conditions are favorable for the formation of a Hurricane. The second alert is a Hurricane Warning. A Hurricane Warning is issued when a Hurricane is predicted to make land fall. Emergency broadcasts are activated during a Hurricane Warning. Upon hearing the being notified by TV or radio you should seek shelter. For more information on hurricanes please read the NOAA Hurricane Preparedness Guide.
